We want everyone to have an enjoyable experience, while ensuring the safety of our guests, artists, and staff. Below you will find important safety and security information to help you plan ahead for your visit.

 

Guest Code of Conduct

Arrival and Seating

  • Guests should arrive on time. Late arrivals may be asked to wait until an appropriate break in the performance to be seated.
  • Guests should download their digital tickets on their mobile device in advance and have them ready to be scanned upon arrival. 
  • Guests should follow instructions from ushers for seating and should not block the aisles.
  • Guests shall not occupy a seat or remain in an area that they do not have a ticket for and upon request will show their ticket.
  • Guests shall not stand on seats or any other building structures.

Electronic Devices

  • Guests should turn off or silence all electronic devices during performances to avoid disruptions.
  • Guests should refrain from using cameras or any other electronic devices.
  • Photography, recording, or any form of reproduction of a performance is strictly prohibited unless otherwise approved in advance.

Food and Beverage

  • Outside food and beverage is prohibited inside the building.
  • Concession policies vary by event. Please see appropriate venue signage and/or confirm with staff prior to purchasing as to if food and beverages are allowed inside the house.
  • Please be mindful of potential spills and dispose of any waste in the provided receptacles.
  • Management reserves the right to deny entry into the venue and/or refuse service to guests displaying visible signs of impairment/intoxication.

Personal Belongings

  • Guests should review the list of prohibited items prior to attending a performance. The venue does not offer the ability to check prohibited personal belongings including oversized bags. 
  • Guests should keep personal belongings in their designated seating area to avoid obstructing walkways and aisles.
  • The Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts is not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged items.

Respectful Behavior

  • Guests should be considerate and respectful to fellow guests, performers, and staff.
  • Guests should refrain from disruptive behavior, including talking loudly, using mobile devices, or engaging in activities that may disturb others.
  • Guests shall not interfere with the event, or the performers in any way.
  • Guests shall supervise children with them at all times, and we kindly request that if your child becomes fussy or disruptive during a performance, you escort them to our designated quiet areas. 
  • Guests shall comply with requests from staff regarding any venue operational and emergency procedures.
  • Guests who engage in disruptive behavior (including foul/abusive language or obscene gestures), fighting, throwing objects, or attempting to enter the stage or backstage areas will be immediately ejected from the venue without refund or reimbursement.
  • Guests are encouraged to promptly report any incidents, concerns, or observed inappropriate behavior to venue staff.
  • Guests shall avoid blocking the view of other guests. However, the venue does not have a “no standing or dancing” policy at concerts. Guests will not be enforced to sit down at concerts unless directed by the show. Standing guests shall continue to be respectful of others around them and avoid blocking the view of other guests.
  • We kindly ask that guests refrain from wearing excessive amounts of perfume, cologne, or strong fragrances. Some guests may be sensitive or allergic to strong scents, and we appreciate your understanding in creating an inclusive atmosphere for all.

Safety and Security Procedures

  • Guests shall not bring weapons of any kind onto venue property, regardless of any licenses or permits.
  • Guests are required to enter through a security metal detection screening before entering the venue.
  • Guests should familiarize themselves with the venue’s emergency exits and follow instructions from staff in the event of an emergency.
  • Guests should be prepared for potential lines and outdoor elements as ensuring the safety of our performers, guests and staff is our top priority.  

Our staff is trained to step in when needed to help uphold these expectations, and we encourage guests to report any inappropriate behavior to the nearest staff member. Guests who fail to comply with these guidelines may be removed without a refund. If you believe an issue has not been properly addressed, please ask to speak with a supervisor or manager right away. Venue management retains the right to approve, modify, or enforce policies at their discretion.

Bag Policy

 

All bags are subject to search and must meet size requirements. A small clutch or wallet is recommended and no bags larger than 12" x 12" x 10" will be allowed, this includes backpacks, camera bags, and oversized purses.

*Diaper bags are allowed for guests with infants and toddlers (child must be present)

Bag Policy FAQ's

Why is there a bag policy in place?

Restricting bag size is an additional layer of security which helps us provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests. This will also allow us to expedite entry into our venue.

Are diaper bags allowed?

​​​Diaper bags will be allowed when accompanied by a child. These will be searched and tagged.

Are medically necessary bags allowed?

Medically necessary bags that contain special medical equipment will be allowed in after proper inspection. These will be searched and tagged.

What happens if I show up with a non-approved bag?

G​​uests will be asked to return the non-approved bag to their vehicle. Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts is not responsible for items lost, stolen, or damaged.

What if I am attending a private event that is not open to the public?

The bag policy applies to all events at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts.

Security Policy

 

In addition to our bag policy, guests are required to enter through a security screening, which includes the use of a metal detector. Alternate screening methods are available for guests with accessibility needs.

Guests will walk through the metal detectors (items can be carried through, pockets and bags do not need to be emptied). In case of an unsatisfactory or incomplete scan, items will need to be removed from pockets and guests will be provided with a clean surface to empty bag contents.

Prohibited Items

Prohibited items that are not permitted inside the venue are listed below. Venue Management reserves the right to prohibit other items as deemed necessary.

  • Animals (with the exception of service animals)
  • Balloons (including helium or other air-filled balloons)
  • Cans, bottles, and coolers
  • Camera bags & cameras with detachable lenses (without prior press pass approval)
  • Cigars, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or vapes
  • Controlled substances of any kind unless pursuant to a doctor’s prescription
  • Drones and any remote-controlled vehicles
  • Fireworks or other incendiary devices
  • Glass items (including vases)
  • Laser pens or other laser light-type pointing devices
  • Markers or stickers
  • Noise making devices (horns, whistles, etc.)
  • Outside food and beverages
  • Oversized bags larger than 12”x12"x10” (including backpacks and camera bags) Medically necessary bags that contain special medical equipment will be allowed in after proper inspection. These will be searched and tagged.
  • Projectiles (including beach balls and frisbees)
  • Propane and propane powered vehicles, equipment and displays
  • Recording devices (including audio, video, and gopros)
  • Signs, posters, or banners
  • Skateboards, skates (roller or in-line), or scooters
  • Sticks (including selfie-sticks,) poles, bats, clubs
  • Weapons of any kind (guns, firearms, knives, mace, electronic shock devices, chains, clubs)

Any other item deemed inappropriate by venue management. Additional items may be prohibited on an event-by-event basis.

Print-at-home tickets and screenshots of tickets will not be accepted Ticketmaster SafeTix repeatedly refreshes your ticketing barcode to curb counterfeit ticket use.
